Monika Kapelewska

wystarczająca.

how to love your body

Monika Kapelewska in a white shirt, laughing, a camera in her hands.

A story about taking off the armour of shame and coming home to your body. Nothing needs fixing.

01

Do you know that feeling, when all you want is to become invisible?

You walk into a room full of people and in a split second your body stiffens. You scan the space. The other women seem perfect, confident, at ease. And a familiar whisper starts up in your head: you are less, you do not belong here.

You know the paralysing fear of being judged. The jealousy that closes your throat. The exhausting belief that love, respect and attention must be earned over and over, at work, in your relationship, in front of your own mirror.

If this sounds like your story, this book was written for you.

02

this is not another self-help manual

Wystarczająca (in English, Enough) is not a cold psychology handbook written from a safe distance. It is an intimate, painfully honest journey into the heart of a woman’s psyche. A story about the armour we build over the years to protect ourselves from rejection, and about how to take it off safely.

Monika Kapelewska is a photographer who spends her days helping women see their own beauty in front of the lens. This time she steps into the light herself. No make-up, no filters, no expert pose. She writes from lived experience and shows how to stop being your own harshest executioner.

The armour was meant to protect us. In time it became a cage.
the armour→softness.
03

the way back to yourself

The book moves through five passages. It is not a course and not a repair programme. It is a road you walk at your own pace.

01

the deep basement of fears

Everything has a source. The messages we absorb in childhood quietly programme our adult lives and make unconditional love so hard to accept. This passage is a descent into the basement of fears, careful, lamp in hand, to see where your inner critic really came from.

02

the illusion of perfectionism

Masks of success, escape into work, control over every detail. Underneath them often lives a deep hunger for acceptance. Here you learn to recognise your masks and to set them down safely, one by one, without shame that you ever needed them.

03

a first aid kit

Concrete tools matched to your kind of emotional block: psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, mentoring, body work through movement, art therapy, conscious contact with nature. No single path suits everyone. This part helps you choose your own.

04

catching yourself in the act

The spiral of panic, jealousy and comparison can start in a split second. You will learn to stop it right there, in the moment, before it gathers speed. It is a skill, and like a muscle it grows with practice.

05

radical forgiveness

At the end of the road comes the releasing of old resentment, towards the past, towards others, towards yourself. Forgiveness does not excuse what hurt you. It hands you back your emotional freedom, and a place where you can finally rest.

04

who this book is for

1For women who live with a constant fear in their relationships and dread being left.

2For those who cannot stand their own reflection, hide in loose clothes and treat their body as a fault to be fixed.

3For perfectionists and workaholics who control every corner of life to drown out an inner emptiness.

4For every woman who is tired of punishing herself for not being perfect and wants to feel softness, calm and safety in her body at last.

If you recognise yourself in even one of these sentences, you are in the right place.

I have lived this on my own skin, and today I stand before you without pretence. When I look at a woman, through the viewfinder of my camera or through the pages of this book, I do not see her supposed flaws. I see pure, real strength. I was where you are now. And I know the way out.
Monika Kapelewska

This book does not promise that your problems will vanish overnight. It offers something more valuable: a real understanding of your own mechanisms, and a concrete map of the way home, back to yourself.

You deserve unconditional love, respect and safety. No conditions to meet, no earning, no fixing anything first. Exactly as you are today.

you areenough.

about the author

Monika Kapelewska is a professional photographer and the owner of a portrait studio. Hundreds of women have passed in front of her lens. She has taught them to stand before a camera without the paralysing fear of being judged, and to see their own magnetic beauty in raw, unretouched frames.

Her most important transformation, though, did not happen under studio lights. It happened in the quiet of her own life. She knows paralysing self-doubt, resentment of her own body and the feeling of being less than others from the inside. She rebuilt herself through deep psychotherapy, mentoring, hypnotherapy and long solitary walks in the mountains, where she learnt to inhabit her body without a shadow of criticism.

Today she brings together developmental psychology and a photographer’s eye for the body and its emotions. She has turned old wounds into strength and authenticity, and she hands her readers the thing she once needed most herself: concrete strategies, and a daily practice of radical gentleness.
